I love all museums, but I have a particular interest in costume and footwear, historic houses, and local history museums. I've had wide-ranging experiences in many aspects of museums and archives. I'm also investigating potentially moving to New Zealand, so if anyone out there has any information or advice about the New Zealand museums sector I'd be very interested!

I have a museum background with an MA in Heritage Studies. After a number of volunteer positions before and during my masters program, my first job after finishing my masters was in the wonderful footwear collection at Northampton Central Museum and Art Gallery in the UK. This is a really splendid collection and if you find yourself in Northampton it's well worth a visit, housed in the Central Museum and Art Gallery
I have since moved to the US and am currently living in Chicago, Illinois. I now have two occupations. One is as Special Collections and Archives assistant at DePaul University
The second is my own historic reproduction clothing business, where I make primarily Victorian corsets and costumes for museums or re-enactors.
