I am a cultural-social entrepreneur working internationally across film, music and heritage, having founded Big Bang Lab in 2008, although working as a freelance producer and music director for over fifteen years.
I am passionate about intercultural dialogue and using cultural heritage awareness to achieve social change. I specialize in connecting communities with social, environmental and cultural issues through collective film and music creativity. The process involves the re-use of archive media and the outcome are digital silent films with no language barriers and new music for digital distribution and live performances.
After a life changing experience in Delhi where I worked with underprivileged children, I am developing and producing a model of projects under the name of City Symphonies. The purpose is to connect ethnic minorities communities living in cities with a strong cultural heritage but also facing serious issues of urban sustainability.
It is an environmental awareness project aiming to specific regeneration projects about the future of the cities, issues with the urban environment connecting the past and the future. It is focused on people first by giving them a voice. In each city seven communities will be involved to create a new digital silent film about their city and new music, based on seven common themes.
The first pilot was delivered in Delhi, one of the themes there is a heritage site, Tughlakabad fort that is partly used by the community but also facing serious environmental issues due to the lack of waste management and citizens responsibility. Children were involved in making interviews and coming up with their own conclusions about the issue.
